For far too long, people with mental and physical disabilities have others that represent them. Groups such as "Autism Speaks" claim to represent autistic children, yet they do not. They leave the actual sufferers of autism out of the discussion entirely, instead hoping to push their own agenda.
Voices Not Heard was created for those suffering from all kinds of disabilities to give them the chance they are not getting to speak for themselves. Instead of letting others attempt to represent us, we need to stand up for ourselves and speak our minds.
